Tiny Box Theater (Brooklyn/Queens) + Ya Chin Chang (Hong Kong) in collaboration with David Lamoureux (Queens) present The Mailbox, a new experience for you to enjoy at home as part of Post Theatrical - a national wave of plays by mail.

The Mailbox is a unique “play by mail” mystery about the environmental crisis told through whimsical anthropomorphic animals. The experience unfolds through theatrical text, original illustrations, audio and video (with closed captioning), text-based puzzles, and branching story interactives. Buy your ticket any time before May 17 and the experience runs from May 17 – June 30.

The Mailbox invites you to join the Worldwide Wildlife Investigative Firm (WWIF) on your first case: When all of the mailboxes in the world disappear overnight, you are tasked with tracking the truth. But never fear, WWIF’s Lynx, Hound, Chameleon, and Raccoon are on hand to help aid you in your investigation. If you go digging, swimming, and climbing, you may uncover more than one mystery at work...

Prologue Prompt

May/June Participants: The first access password will arrive in the packet sent in the mail.

• Hello! Participants in the May/June 2021 experience have been emailed important information from Tiny Box Theater.
  Be sure to check and respond to the messages when requested. Packets are being mailed the week of May 17th.

• This page is the hub for access to additional experiences within the world of The Mailbox. Connections will be made between the artwork and text you were mailed and the story that will continue to unfold online. Your experience begins when you receive your packet in the mail.

• You have the choice to participate in as much or as little of The Mailbox as you’d like. You start and finish the piece in your own time. You can complete it in a few hours or spread it out over a few weeks. All content and all prompts are optional. Have fun exploring and investigating!

• Your mailed packet will contain your first password hint. After the prologue (this page) which is not password protected, each chapter of The Mailbox will have a different password. You will find password clues in either the printed or online content.

• We're here for you if you need us, drop us a line. Please note, sometimes we take naps and therefore we might not respond immediately.
